Randles Reviews is now teamed up with Des Knock BSc, PGCE, BPS, to bring the latest in imagery possible from an eclectic array of subjects for you to enjoy. Dr K is of course the model maker who produced the first Predator model into the country for publication with Model Mart in 1990, then went on to deliver many similar standard setting photo imagery.
If you follow the link to his new home page there you will see a brief outline of what he has available ready of course to produce anything to a design specification, take on assignments, or cover events. In this latter role he was one of the foremost contributors to a re-0enactment living history publication but has moved onto other projects in publishing.

Title- Battle
Author- Various Publisher- Osprey ISBN- 9781846034909 Binding- card Pages 40.
Price- £9.99
When I first saw this advertised I mistakenly thought it was
a book, well you would it being Osprey because in the past they have produced
some really impressive books using various illustrations from their eclectic
range of publications. I should have
looked more closely because in a diversion from their norm Osprey have produced
a set of 40 full color postcards a little bit larger than your usual 5 by 7
inch photographic print.
And what a
brilliant collection they are too.
The selected pictures range form the ancient Greeks through
to the Second World War and as the title "Battle" suggests the subject matter
is warfare at its most violent. Included
are Greeks, Romans Celts, Normans, Goths, etc but not all limited to the
European theatre of operations. Several
feature Oriental subjects, and to provide maximum coverage there are infantry
action, cavalry charges, sea battles and aviation dog fights.
The heavy high quality card exhibit vibrant color and the set, as a collection it is, is supplied in an excellent box.
So if you are looking for a perfect gift for a re-enactor check this out...
All you really need are 40 frames to display them in because
I feel as post cards they would be wasted shoved into a postbox, always
assuming the post office isn't on strike of course!!!
Overall the concept is brilliant and what you
get for less than a tenner is an absolute bargainI I only wish all of these had
been put into a hard back book format but perhaps in future this may happent.
My thanks to Osprey for the supply of the books and these
post cards for reviews for more information follow the links to the Osprey
website and up to date publication information.
